Downloading the Virtual TI-83: Step by Step Guide with all downloads needed

The Plaz is an excellent site for finding TI-83 ROM Images!

  1. TI 83+ or TI 83+ Silver Edition
    1. Method 1: (More challenging)
      1. Download Virtual TI 2.5 beta by Rusty Wagner: http://www.ticalc.org/archives/files/fileinfo/84/8442.html
      2. Transfer a ROM image from your calculator to your computer
      3. Unzip Virtual TI and move the .ROM file into the Virtual TI folder.
      4. Make a shortcut to vti.exe on your desktop, pin it to the Start menu, or add it to your Quick Launch toolbar.
      5. Include the use of the vti in your mathcasts or use it other helpful ways.
    2. Method 2: (Easier)
      1. Download Virtual TI 2.5 (2.5 seems to work and will give you the ability to save the calculator's state) or Virtual TI 3
      2. Use the TI SDK to get the rom image, rename it, and put it in the right place.
      3. Unzip Virtual TI and move the .ROM file generated by rom8x into the Virtual TI folder.
      4. Make a shortcut to vti.exe on your desktop, pin it to the Start menu, or add it to your Quick Launch toolbar.
      5. Include the use of the vti in your mathcasts or use it other helpful ways.
